CVSA Warns: Time is Running Out on ELD Compliance
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) announced Aug. 28 that any truck without electronic logging devices (ELDs) on Dec. 18 will be fined starting April 1, 2018 and you will be placed out of service if you are not in ELD compliance.
ELD Compliance Deadline: Dec. 18
The CVSA reports:
“The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) mandated ELD compliance deadline is set for December 18 (of this year). On that day, roadside enforcement will issue citations to commercial motor vehicle drivers operating vehicles without a compliant ELD. On April 1, 2018, inspectors will start placing commercial motor vehicle drivers out of service. Drivers using Automatic on-board recording devices (AOBRDs) who meet the requirements of 49 C.F.R. 395.15 are grandfathered until December 16th, 2019. Learn more about the CVSA mandate.
