iGlobal Customer Paramount Freight Systems Named Among Best Fleets to Drive For

Posted 03/06/12

(Ocala, Florida) – iGlobal, a leading provider of onboard computing and in-cab scanning systems for the transportation industry, is pleased to announce that its long-time customer Paramount Freight Systems (PFS) was recently named in the ‘Best Fleets to Drive For’ by the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge. This annual survey and contest recognizes for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers.

Paramount Freight Systems, an owner-operator OTR Trucking company, continues to build on the outstanding workplace environment for which it has been recognized in the past. Like Motor Carrier Service, Inc., it maintains a committee of drivers who provide their input on company policies and procedures. In addition, the company uses a “buddy program” to pair experienced contractors with those just starting out. Both programs are fairly common in carriers that employ company drivers, but are somewhat unusual for an all owner-operator fleet.

As a customer of iGlobal, Paramount Freight Systems uses the iGlobal Journey MDT in-cab PC. The MDT allows drivers to save time by allowing their paperwork to be instantly scanned back to the office and processed.  Using iGlobal’s MDT, Paramount Freight Systems has been able to improve driver communication, save fuel, streamline freight billing, and increase driver retention.

“iGlobal’s MDT provides significant value to our drivers, as it contributes to streamlined processes and better communication overall,” said Trent Dye, Director of Paramount Freight Systems. “This system is one of the reasons our employees love driving for us.”

Recently, Paramount Freight Systems has been reaching out to new drivers through social media. Early on, it embraced social media tools and now runs an aggressive and effective social media campaign that includes Facebook and Twitter. The company reports to have hired 25 new owner-operators as a direct result of its social media posts.
